Bequests Guide

A bequest is a sure way of providing support and a living gift which will continue long after you have passed on.

A bequest to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of NZ Inc will be invested so the capital remains untouched and the interest used to assist New Zealanders with a neuromuscular condition.  So your bequest will continue to help people year after year – a fitting tribute to your generous gift.  It will be an unforgettable investment in the futures of those affected by neuromuscular conditions.

HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT US?

To continue our services, contributions to research, and the caring and support of our members, we need your support. Remember us in your will and we will remember you forever.

Here are some ways to give us financial support...

  • You can make a cash donation on a monthly, half yearly or annual basis.
  • You can make a transfer of securities, stocks or shares which can be assigned to NMA.
  • You can leave us the residue or part of your estate - just add a codicil to you existing will.
  • You can donate a specific amount designated for a specific project - we can provide you with a list of upcoming projects.

We are here to help - call us if you would like to hear more about our work or need more information on giving a bequest.

Though it is natural to keep the details of your will private, we love to know if you are going to support us - we'd love the opportunity to say thank you. If you wish to include the Muscular Dystrophy Association of NZ Inc as a benefactor in your will, we suggest the following wording.

I give and bequeath to:
Muscular Dystrophy Association of NZ Inc ....% of my estate
Or  the sum of $....
Or  the residue of my estate after all other beneficiaries have been paid.

I declare that the receipt of an officer of the Muscular Dystrophy Association of NZ Inc shall be a full and sufficient discharge for my trustee.
