FIELD WORKER
The new Fieldworker service covering the lower half of the North Island is now up and running. If you would like to speak to either Marty our Fieldworker or Margaret our Office Manager please contact them at the Branch Office (see contact details above)
Family Fun Day
The Branch will hold its first ever Family Fun Day on Sunday, 7th March 2010 at Enable NZ’s hall, 69 Malden Street, Palmerston North. Events will start off at 1pm and we will be finished by 4pm. This will be an opportunity for a change of scenery, a chance to catch up with others from the Lower North Island and to do something different. We are organizing different forms of entertainment that will appeal to all ages. Register your interest in attending on 0800 886 626 or email office.mdawgtn@xtra.co.nz.
If you require transport please let the office know as we have penciled in a mobility van in case it is needed.
Wellington Branch AGM
The Wellington Branch AGM will be held on Sunday, 2nd May 2010 at 1.30pm in the Hutt Valley Disabled Resource Trust Meeting room (at the back). There is plenty of parking and afternoon tea will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there.
Equipment available to members
We are happy to announce that we have the following equipment available for use by our members.
Telescopic Ramp
Lightweight, portable ramps for wheelchairs and scooters. The track or channel ramp is manufactured from durable, extruded aluminium with a non-skid non-rusting surface. Features a 165mm width to accommodate the widest wheelchair offset and c amber. Carrying capacity of up to 270kg.
The ramp can adjust to any door width, accommodating even the narrow entries into RV’s or minivans. Loading and unloading your car, truck etc with the Tracks can help save you time and reduce the amount of stress on your back.
Suitcase Ramp
A single fold 6 foot ramp for scooter and all wheelchair types is designed to bridge the gap over steps, curbs and raised landings.
Simply unfold the hinged ramp and position for maximum safety and support. Folds in half to be carried like a suitcase. Made of aluminium and features a durable, nonskid driving surface. Has a built in carry handle.
